Volunteers Event

We now have a venue locked in for our volunteers event, as well as a date and time.

Oydis Bar (190/192 High St, Ashburton VIC 3147 - MAP) Tuesday 24th March at 6:30pm - no need to rush your dinner; food and drinks will be available for purchase

We are looking for volunteers to help us with a fun series of community building events we are putting on throughout 2026. Democracy needs you now more than ever! Are you willing to step up and volunteer a little of your time?

We will be running regular events in venues throughout the electorate over the course of 2026. There will be a specific theme for each night as well as a number of fun activities. Evenings will start with an optional meal, followed by guest speakers, good-natured debate and some fun and games, competitions and prizes. The topic of the first event will be "Does the media in Australia help or harm democracy?"

To put on these events and ramp up our presence in Chisholm, we need volunteers to help us out. Is this you?

Would you like to join us, to connect and activate – and have fun doing it?

Even if you could commit to an hour a week, we’d welcome that, and if you can sometimes do more, so much the better.

If you have particular talents, then we have myriad opportunities, e.g.

- Strategy & Policy – reviewing strategy, developing topics for public discussion

- Communications – designing and producing all messaging

- Social media – messaging as part of the Comms team

- Letterboxing – posting flyers in letter boxes throughout the electorate

- Community & Volunteer Engagement – planning events to engage the community

- Onboarding – as part of Community & Volunteer Engagement, welcoming new supporters and helping them learn the ropes

- Generally helping out – there are many ways to assist our volunteer teams

If none of these roles suit you but you would like to be involved in other ways, do contact us, as there will always be ways to contribute (Perhaps you have ‘the gift of the gab’ and a vibrant personality and would like to do a VoC Podcast!?)
