Kath
Davies
Kath Davies is a dedicated community leader, climate activist, and independent thinker who has called Chisholm home for over 27 years. Born in the Latrobe Valley town of Morwell, Kath’s journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to fairness, sustainability, and genuine community engagement. With a rich professional background in engineering, management, and continuous improvement, she has spent decades solving complex problems and working collaboratively across industries. Now, she is stepping forward to represent the people of Chisholm with integrity and purpose.
Kath’s foundation in science and engineering led her to earn a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering from Monash University. Her career has spanned roles at major organizations like Rio Tinto and Kraft Foods before she established herself as an independent consultant, working across industries to drive innovation and efficiency. But beyond her technical expertise, Kath’s passion lies in advocacy—standing up for fairness, sustainability, and a political system that truly serves the people.
A lifelong volunteer and activist, Kath has dedicated her time to causes that matter. From serving as Chairperson of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association’s Victoria branch to challenging unjust policies in the High Court, she has consistently fought for a better future. She has also played an active role in school councils, conservation efforts, and tax reform advocacy, proving her commitment to long-term, meaningful change.
Kath believes in a fairer democracy—one that reduces the influence of money and media, restores trust, and ensures real representation for local communities. She is passionate about tackling climate change, advocating for stronger environmental policies while maximizing economic and social opportunities. She also sees the need for economic and tax reform to create a more equitable society for current and future generations.
But Kath’s vision for Chisholm isn’t just about policy—it’s about people. She believes in listening deeply, learning from the lived experiences of locals, and ensuring that their voices shape the future. Her approach is one of collaboration, transparency, and action. She is ready to be a strong, independent voice for Chisholm—one that stands for integrity, sustainability, and a future where the community is empowered to create real change.
