Have your say, Chisholm
Our story, so far...
Just 5 weeks out from the last election, the newly formed Voices of Chisholm decided to take the bold, or should we say foolhardy! decision to field a candidate in the May 2025 federal election. Despite the obvious lack of time, experience and resources, there was enough enthusiasm in the community for the idea to “just have a go.” With the goal not so much about winning, but more about learning, and also making lots of mistakes too! we embarked on our journey to Canberra.
We followed a democratic process and the community endorsed the wonderful Kath Davies as our candidate. Kath Davies (Kath4Chisholm) is a dedicated community leader, climate activist, and independent thinker who has called Chisholm home for over 27 years. Her enthusiasm, hard work and dedication propelled us forward over the 5 weeks and resulted in us getting an amazing 6% of the vote. Not bad for such a small team, with so little time and very little experience. Woohoo!
Post election we are smashing the reset button. We are going back to the electorate to ask all the big questions we just didn’t have time to ask properly before. We are now in our listening phase. We want to hear what matters most to the people of Chisholm. In your words. We also want to get everyone in Chisholm excited about democracy. Democracy is a privilege and a responsibility. It should be fun. Participating in democracy is great way to meet new people, share ideas and to talk about the type of future we want for Australia.

Who are we?
Voices Of Chisholm is part of the Community Independents Project (CIP). A grass roots political organisation created to help fully Independent Community focused candidates get into parliament. Find out more about Australia’s CIP movement that is revitalising Grass Roots Democracy in Australia HERE All “Voices of” groups choose polices and run candidates independently and only use CIP as resource. What Voices Of Chisholm does and what policies we choose is decided around a kitchen table conversation (KTC) somewhere in Chisholm. Come an join us at a KTC and lets together build a future around people, not parties.
